Phrasal Verbs for Pranks
In English, when you add a small word (a particle) after a verb, the meaning changes completely. These are called phrasal verbs — and they're everywhere in everyday English!

to fall for

💡 Tip for Romanians: Phrasal verbs change the meaning of the base verb completely! "Fall" = a cădea, but "fall for" = a se lăsa păcălit. Learn them as a whole — don't try to translate word by word!

On April 1st, 1957, the BBC broadcast a short film showing a family in Switzerland harvesting spaghetti from trees. Millions of viewers believed it was real! Many called the BBC asking how to grow their own spaghetti tree. It is considered one of the greatest media hoaxes of all time.
